Our main objective in creating the Zen 4 model was to "mix it up and keep it fun". Little did we know that the Zen 4 would become our most versatile and successful board model we have ever built. 2023 marks two years after the Zen 4 was brought to life and we finally have come up with something to continue the Zen lineage, the Zen 4.1. The Zen 4.1 keeps the paddle power from the extra forward volume but the rocker is slightly increased throughout the board to enhance maneuverability on all parts of the wave. We removed the small subtle wings of the Zen 4 and went with a clean continuous curve in the outline. The Zen 4.1 has a 4 channel bottom also, but we moved them forward in front of the fins as belly channels. The belly channels increase down the line drive and pocket control while taking nothing away from the tail and fin set up. The Zen 4.1 has a Twinzer fin set up which we have never offered on any of our other board models. The Twinzer set up paired with the belly channels gives the Zen 4.1 added feel and control with drive and speed generation unlike anything we have ever offered. Like the Zen 4, the Zen 4.1 can be ordered shorter and wider than your normal shortboard for a performance small wave groveler. It also can be sized up to work well as a step up or mid length cruiser alternative.
